Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series alumnae, board members named to 2025 IBJ 250 list

Since its inception, the Lugar Series has trained nearly 650 Republican women from 66 counties across the state of Indiana, equipping them for impactful roles in public service. The program seeks applicants who demonstrate a commitment to leadership, civic involvement and community engagement.

Morgan Perrill, who previously served as Vice President, was unanimously elected as President effective immediately. She succeeds Elisha Modisett Kemp who served as Board President from 2021-2024. Kemp plans to remain on the board.

“We are excited to announce the 35th Lugar Series class and begin working with a group of strong Republican women representing 12 counties throughout the state,” said Anne Hathaway, Executive Director of the Lugar Series. “The women selected to participate in this year’s class bring an array of talents that will continue to strengthen Indiana as well as the Republican party,” said Anne Hathaway. “I am excited for each of them to continue the legacy of Senator Lugar and develop their skills to make an impact in civic service at the local, state and federal levels of government after graduating from the Lugar Series.”

Maloley Outstanding Public Service Award recipient in recognition of her tireless commitment to Indiana and to her country. The award will be presented at the Lugar Series 29th Annual Luncheon at the Indiana Rooftop Ballroom on April 5, 2019.

The Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series recently selected its 29th class of Republican women for leadership training in government, politics and public service. The 20 women in the 2018-2019 class hail from 11 counties throughout Indiana. They will be formally introduced at the Lugar Series 2018 Opening Reception, which will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at the Ivy Tech Culinary Center Ballroom in Indianapolis. Lugar Series alumna and current Indiana State Treasurer Kelly Mitchell will serve as the keynote speaker.

Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series 2011-2012 alumna and current board member Brenda Gerber Vincent and 2016-2017 alumna and Indiana State Health Commissioner Dr. Kristina Box with Torchbearer Awards at the Torchbearer Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at the Indiana Historical Society.

Brooks along with Congresswoman Jackie Walorski (IN-02) highlighted this year’s Lugar Series Luncheon, taking part in a congressional roundtable discussion moderated by Teresa Lubbers, the Indiana Commissioner for Higher Education and one of the program’s founders, before a crowd of over 500 at the Marriott Downtown.
