The Lugar Series Apply
Each year, we look for Hoosier women making an impact in their communities and
demonstrating leadership in their place of work.
Applicants must be committed to the process of full participation of women in politics and government, and able to confirm a loyalty to the Republican Party.
As a Lugar Series Class Member You Will:
Participate in class sessions over the course of 8 months.
Connect with real-world professional and government leaders.
Experience leadership first hand on class trip to Washington, D.C.
Gain a foundational understanding of Republican politics.
Expand your network with our diverse group of alumnae.
Each year, we select 20 women who will participate in an 8-month program including a 4-day trip to Washington, D.C. Here, they will meet with elected officials, form relationships and receive political leadership training to prepare them for political office.
Interviews are conducted in September and class members are selected. From October to April, we meet monthly in Indianapolis, and we finish the year in May as the class graduates in Washington, D.C.
Class members are responsible for the $250 participation fee which will cover meals and transportation fees for class sessions and the $500 Washington, D.C. trip fee which will cover hotel, airfare and meals.
Applications for the Class of 2026-2027 will open on June 1, 2026.
The Application Process
STEP 1. Complete the application packet. Please include the application form, your current resume, and two letters of recommendation (one letter from a fellow Republican and one letter of recommendation from a business/professional/community associate).
STEP 2. Email the completed application, resume, and letters of recommendation to The Lugar Series at [email protected] no later than August 1, 2025.
STEP 3. Mail the $35 application fee (check or money order made out to The Lugar Series) along with six copies of the following items: completed application, resume and two letters of recommendation to The Lugar Series at 303 N. Alabama Street, Suite 390, Indianapolis, IN 46204.
Envelopes must be post marked no later than August 1.
