Each year up to twenty outstanding Republican women are selected for the program through a competitive selection process. Members of each class have diverse personal and professional life experiences and represent women of all ages and from every corner of Indiana. Women who have
demonstrated extensive leadership skills in the workplace or in community service and who are committed to the full participation of women in politics and government are
encouraged to apply.
While some graduates of the Lugar Series pursue full-time public sector employment, others are interested in serving on policy boards and commissions or running for public office. Whatever a participant’s interest, the Lugar Series serves as a springboard to new levels of personal achievement and public involvement.
